Severe deficiencies in verbal and non-verbal social communication skills that cause severe impairment in job performance.
Limited ability to create social interaction, and minimum capacity to respond to others’ social initiatives.
For example, an individual has a few words that can be used to talk but rarely begins the social interactions with others. If he/she initiates social interaction, his/her interaction is unusually directed only to fulfill his/her needs, and he/she responds to direct social interactions only.
Inelastic behavior, extreme difficulty in adapting to change, or repetitive / limited behaviors seem sufficient to be visible to others or affect individual functioning in different situations (social contexts).
Difficulty in being able to change his or her interests or actions.
